Privacy Policy
We are a small carpentry shop, not a data company. The information we hold about you exists so that we can measure your hallway, build something that fits it, invoice you once, and answer the phone if a drawer slide fails in year three. This page explains exactly what we collect and what we do not.
One What we collect
When you call, email, or stop into the shop, we record your name, telephone number, email address, and the street address of the property where work would be performed. During a measure visit we write down dimensions, the condition of the plaster and trim, and notes about how your household uses the entry. If you proceed to a build, we also keep the signed drawing, the finish selection, the invoice, and the record of payment.
This website itself collects no personal information. There is no contact form, no newsletter signup, no analytics script, no advertising pixel, and no cookie is set by us. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs — IP address, browser type, page requested, timestamp — for security purposes, and these are discarded after thirty days.
Google Fonts is loaded from Google's servers to render the typefaces used here, which means your browser contacts Google when the page loads. We do not receive any data from that request. Links to Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook are ordinary hyperlinks; those platforms may track you once you arrive on their sites, under their own policies, not ours.
Two Why we hold it
To quote, design, build, deliver, and warranty your entryway carpentry. To order hardware and finish materials in the correct quantity. To meet New Jersey contractor recordkeeping and tax obligations, which require us to retain contracts and invoices for seven years. Nothing else. We do not profile clients, score leads, or enrich records with purchased data.
Three Who else sees it
Our bookkeeper, for invoicing and tax filing. Our payment processor, if you pay by card, which receives your card details directly and never shares them with us beyond the last four digits. A single sub-contracted electrician, and only the site address and access instructions, when a job includes integrated lighting. No one else. We have never sold, rented, or traded client information and will not.
Four Your choices
You may ask us at any time to tell you what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. We will comply within thirty days, except where a contract or invoice must be retained for the statutory seven-year period, in which case we will remove everything outside that record — drawings, notes, photographs of measurements, and contact details used for follow-up.
If you are a California resident, you may exercise the rights to know, delete, and opt out of sale under the CCPA. Since we do not sell personal information, the opt-out is already your default position.
We do not knowingly collect information from children. Measurements taken for a child's cubby or hook height are recorded as a height in inches and a first name only, and we are happy to use an initial instead if you prefer.
Five How we store and secure it
Active job files live on two password-protected computers in the shop at Willow Avenue 801 and on an encrypted backup drive kept off site. Paper drawings are stored in a locked flat file and shredded once the warranty period closes. Completed job records are archived and access is limited to the two owners and the bookkeeper.
Should a breach occur that puts your information at risk, we will notify affected clients by telephone and in writing without undue delay, and in any case within seventy-two hours of discovery.
